Chloe suffered a concussion in soccer. She was playing goalie and went down on her knees for a ball, and got stepped on and a knee in the head. She took a week off of school, and three weeks off of track practice. She was able to start running, two days before the district track meet. If you ever wondered what the face of determination looks like, here you go.
Chloe ran the 400 five seconds slower than her last recorded time. She was exhausted and about to cry, but dug deep inside and started sprinting to the finish. She ran out of time to close the gap, but we couldn’t have been prouder of our little girl. Not because she’s fast, even though she is. But because she has the strength of character to do hard things the best that she can.
